

Former Pakistan cricketer Mansoor Akhtar has been acquitted of match-fixing charges. Umar Akmal accused Mansoor Akhtar of fixing while playing in Canada’s Global T20 League in 2019. The ICC’s anti-corruption commission launched an investigation into his allegations.
In a letter to 64-year-old Mansoor Akhtar, Steve Richardson, senior manager of ICC’s anti-corruption unit, clarified that you have been informed through WhatsApp about the outcome of the investigation into the corruption charges leveled against you by a player in October 2019.
He added that the investigation is now over. The ICC will not bring any charges against you. Many factors are considered and decided. However, the ICC reserves the right to reopen the investigation if any further evidence comes to light. Thank you for your cooperation in the investigation.
Incidentally, Mansoor Akhtar played in 19 Tests and 41 ODIs for Pakistan between 1980 and 1990.
