Since his debut in international cricket, Virat Kohli has taken himself to unique heights by performing consistently. Since 2008, batting in 555 innings for India in Tests, ODIs, and T20s, he has already taken himself to the level of legends by collecting 25 thousand 322 runs with the help of a record second-highest 75 centuries.

Kohli is a complete failure as a captain despite being successful as an individual. Despite leading India in two ODIs and a T20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy final, the team could not win the title. He led the team in the Test Championship final against New Zealand but failed to win the title.

Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL for 9 consecutive years from 2013 to 2021. But he could not give the title to the team.
Pakistan’s legendary cricketer Wasim Akram said in an interview recently given to an Indian media about Kohli’s failure as a captain, “I don’t know where Kohli’s weakness is as a captain. He is a very hardworking man. I think he is more focused on the Indian team. Captaincy often becomes a burden in IPL. So it was good that Kohli gave it up. He is now able to focus more on his performance. It seems, now he is enjoying the cricket.”

Wasim Akram has heaped praise on former successful captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who gave India ODI and T20 World Cup trophies.
He said, “Dhoni’s captaincy is completely different from others. He is a calm player, which gives his teammates confidence. Leadership is a habit. He has this habit of captaincy. Kohli should have developed that habit by now.”
