Wanindu Hasaranga scored a hat-trick for the first time in LPL history

Wanindu Hasaranga became the first player in the history of the Sri Lankan Premier League to score his first hat-trick in the tournament against the Colombo Stars. In the opening match of the Sri Lankan Premier League, Kandy Falcons scored 199 runs for the loss of one wicket.

Pathum Nishanka and Andre Fletcher put on an opening stand of 156 runs. Andre Fletcher scored 107 off 67 balls, including 11 fours and three sixes. Colombo Stars were bowled out for 90 thanks to a superb bowling performance by star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, who took the wickets of Dinesh Chandimal, Benny Howell, and Seekkuge Prasanna in three consecutive balls. Andre Fletcher won the Man of the Match award for his brilliant century.
