Tigresses Seek ODI Series Victory Against South Africa in Potchefstroom

The resilient Bangladesh women’s national team are set to embark on the second leg of their quest to secure victory in the three-match ODI series against South Africa. The Tigresses, after a triumphant first encounter in East London, where they clinched their inaugural ODI win on South African soil with a commanding 119-run lead, are gearing up for their second game in Potchefstroom today under the lights, commencing at 6:00 pm Bangladesh time.

In the historic opening match, led by Nigar Sultana Joty, Bangladesh showcased their prowess by posting a formidable 250 for three—their highest total while batting first in ODIs. Murshida Khatun’s stellar unbeaten 91 off 100 balls played a pivotal role. The Tigresses’ bowlers complemented this stellar batting performance by restricting the hosts to a mere 131 runs, marking Bangladesh’s most significant margin of victory in terms of runs in the ODI format.

Having recently secured victories in an ODI series against Pakistan at home and drawn another home series against a formidable India, the Tigresses, in their current form, aspire to maintain their momentum and achieve an unprecedented series win on South African soil.

The preceding T20I series ended in a 1-1 draw, setting the stage for an intense battle between the Tigresses and their South African counterparts in this highly anticipated ODI series.
