Pacer Believes Strong Performance Can Lead to Asia Cup Triumph

Taskin Ahmed, the pacer from Bangladesh, has expressed his belief that securing victory in the Asia Cup is within reach if the team can consistently display their best cricket.

While Bangladesh has reached the Asia Cup final three times before, lifting the coveted trophy has eluded them thus far. Taskin, however, maintains a sense of optimism regarding the team’s potential success, particularly with an eye on the upcoming ODI World Cup.

“Our main aim is to play the final of the Asia Cup as the teams’ achievement is the biggest achievement. I will be personally very happy if we can reach the final and could able to play as a team. Please everyone pray for us. Obviously we wish to become the champion but the main thing is to play better cricket since we have the World Cup coming shortly. If we can play our best cricket its possible to become the champion,” Taskin shared with the media at the airport.

The Tigers embarked on their journey from Dhaka at 12:55 pm. Regrettably, opening batter Liton Das will not be part of the contingent traveling to Sri Lanka due to an ongoing fever. This information was confirmed by Jalal Younus, Chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s Cricket Operations committee.

Young pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib is also poised to miss the flight. As a last-minute replacement for the injured Ebadot Hossain, his ticket confirmation is still pending, necessitating his travel on a subsequent flight.
