

Jalal Yunus, the cricket operations chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), confirmed that Tamim would not be returning as a player for the upcoming Asia Cup. However, he will make himself available for the World Cup in India.
The BCB is yet to finalize the new captain for the Tigers in the Asia Cup.
Bangladesh is set to begin their Asia Cup campaign on August 31, facing Sri Lanka in Kandy. Their final group-stage fixture will be against Afghanistan on September 3.
