Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finally taken a long-term plan with DRS or Decision Review System after the controversy in the ninth season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury Sujan confirmed that Bangladesh will get direct support for this technology in all types of international and domestic level cricket till 2027. There was no end to the controversy over the recently concluded BPL. The most controversy has arisen over the decision of the match officials. BCB was criticized for not being able to ensure DRS technology. Finally, the board moved. Although they have given the responsibility of DRS technology in BPL to the production, this time they have shouldered the responsibility themselves. BCB is going to direct long-term contracts with these technology providers.

Appearing at a press conference in Mirpur on Monday (February 27), Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that until 2027, BCB will get direct support from the DRS technology in all the international and domestic level games in Bangladesh. He said, ‘There is a lot of controversy about DRS. Earlier when there was no DRS, it was still played. International events such as the World Cup are held without DRS. But at some point in time, the ICC came into contact with the technology and made it mandatory for ICC events. Our effort was to ensure DRSTA in the domestic competition. We gave this responsibility to the production team.

We are out of this thing. We are moving to long-term contracts. We will have a contract with those who provide this service until at least 2027. As a result, those games will be played at the international and domestic levels, we will get the direct support of the DRS in all of them. Apart from this, the issue of making Bangladesh-England series tickets online also came up in the press conference. Sujan said that it is not possible in this series due to some limitations. However, he has assured us that tickets will be available online for the upcoming Ireland series.
