Batting first, Kusal Mendis and captain Dasun Shanaka batted first and scored 206 runs for 6 wickets. Dasun Shanaka scored an unbeaten 56 off 22 balls with the help of two fours and six sixes. Apart from this, Kusal Mendis returned with 52 runs in 31 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes.

Chasing a target to win the series, India lost 5 wickets for 57 runs. However, Suryakumar Yadav (51 off 36 balls) and Aksar Patel (65 off 31 balls) were the only batsmen to dream of winning.
