Stating that there is no added pressure on Dravid to succeed, Sourav said, “He is still sharp, cautious and professional like in the previous days. The only difference between Dravid and the old days is that he no longer needs to bat at number 3 for India.

Sourav believes, “Dravid will do well as a coach because of his honesty and talent”. Ganguly was instrumental in replacing Shastri with Dravid as a coach.

The BCCI president said, “Like everyone else, Dravid will make mistakes, but as long as you try to do the right thing, you will have more success than others”.

Ganguly shared his views on the differences in coaching between Shastri and Dravid. “They are different personalities and different kinds of people”. One always thinks about his strong side and the other works quietly despite being the greatest player ever. Two different people can never succeed in the same way.
