The Bangladesh cricket team is currently in Chelmsford, England for a three-match ODI series against the Irish. Shakib Al Hasan joined the team on Saturday. When the world’s best all-rounder joined the team, the Tigers were preparing for a practice match with Ireland Wolves. But the warm-up match was abandoned as the ground was wet due to rain.

The ODI series is part of the ICC Super League. Bangladesh will train for two more days before the first ODI against Ireland on May 9. The next two ODIs will be played on May 12 and 14 respectively. All three matches of the series will be played at Chelmsford, England’s County Essex Ground. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has qualified directly for the ICC ODI World Cup to be held in India in October-November. If they can whitewash Bangladesh in the upcoming series, the Irish will get a chance to play live in cricket’s biggest event.

Ireland toured Bangladesh in March-April to play a bilateral series. The Irish didn’t play their best in that series. Bangladesh won the three-match ODI series 2-0, the T20 series 2-1, and the one-match Test series. Ireland will play an ODI series in England due to the possibility of rain at home in May.
