Shakib Al Hasan, the top-ranked all-rounder in the world, has officially joined the Galle Gladiators franchise in the Sri Lankan Premier League (LPL). According to reports in Sri Lankan media, Shakib has signed a direct contract with the team.

This marks Shakib’s debut appearance in the Sri Lankan franchise tournament, bringing his exceptional skills to the LPL stage.
In the draft held last month, Shakib, along with Liton Das and Afif Hossain, were named as the three players representing Bangladesh in the tournament. The LPL consists of a total of five teams competing in this season.

While the auction for the tournament is scheduled for June 11, teams are already vying to recruit prominent cricketers. Sri Lanka’s talented all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been signed by the Kandy Falcons, and South African batsman David Miller will be playing for the Jaffna Kings.

According to reports, Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam is set to join the Colombo Strikers team for the upcoming season.
