Quinton de Kock, the flamboyant and prolific batter, has officially declared that the upcoming 50-over Cricket World Cup in India will mark the end of his One Day International (ODI) cricket career. De Kock had previously retired from Test cricket in 2022, making it clear that he will focus solely on the T20 format after the World Cup.

I would like to tick off an ICC event. I don’t see myself being involved in the game in any way when I stop playing. I want a life after cricket.”

In an era where cricket analysis and strategy have become increasingly sophisticated, de Kock remains a proponent of the old-school style of play. He does not place much emphasis on studying videos or planning intricate strategies against opponents.

“Basically I play what’s in front of me. You can look at videos, but it’s not the same as being in the middle,” de Kock emphasized.
