While questions arise about Rohit’s future beyond the 2023 ODI World Cup, the star cricketer himself has dropped a major hint, suggesting that he isn’t planning to retire anytime soon.

In a video that surfaced online, Rohit Sharma was seen discussing the 2024 T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in the United States of America and the West Indies. During an event in the USA, Rohit expressed his excitement for the upcoming mega event.

“More than just going and enjoying, there is another reason to come here (in the USA). Because you know the World Cup is coming. In June, there will be the T20 World Cup (2024) happening in this part of the world. So, I’m pretty sure everyone is excited. So yaa, we look forward to that,” Rohit said in the video.

As Hardik Pandya leads the Indian team in T20Is, Rohit Sharma’s involvement has been limited to ODIs and Tests. In the T20 format, the veteran batsman last featured for his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians.

During the IPL, Rohit had a relatively ordinary season, scoring 332 runs in 16 matches, with only two half-centuries to his name. This performance led to questions from fans and experts regarding his future in the shortest format.
