Delhi Capitals took to the field on Saturday to play their first match in the IPL. However, Rishabh Pant was not seen even once in the entire match. Panth has not been seen in public since the car accident last year. He has posted several pictures on social media. It did not satisfy the fans’ hunger. Many expected to see him at least in the dugout. That hope was not fulfilled on Saturday. Delhi posted a picture shortly after the start of the match. A jersey of Panth can be seen hanging above the roof of the dugout. In other words, Delhi intended that Panth could stay with the party even if he was not physically present. Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting have all been seen in Delhi’s dugout. Panth was not the only one.

However, it is not yet known whether he will be brought in the coming days. Before the Lucknow match on Saturday, Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) director Shyam Sharma said, “We are ready to host Rishabh Pant. It is being ensured that Panth can watch the IPL games comfortably. We will take care of everything. Our responsibility is from pick up to delivery from home. A special ramp has been constructed for access to the team’s dugout.”Delhi coach Ponting has also asked Pant to be by his side during the team’s playing days. He said, “I have spoken to Panth. Hopefully, we will have him this season as well. I will be very happy if Panth comes to the field in our home matches. It can stay where it feels comfortable in the dugout or dressing room. If there is a path, it will be a special thing for the party as well.
