In an interview with the ICC, Ponting said, “I think India and Australia will play the final of this year’s T20 World Cup. Australia will win in the final. The defending champions will have a chance to play at home. Last time’s win on foreign soil is a little more of a pleasure. I didn’t think Australia would win in the United Arab Emirates. But they did.

In 2003, there was an India-Australia final in the One Day Cricket World Cup. Ponting was the captain of Australia in that final. He played a big role in India’s defeat. Ponting believes that there will be the final of those two teams again in this year’s T20 World Cup.

He believes Australia will win. Ponting also said which team could be an obstacle in the way of reaching the India-Australia final.

“England are terrible in white-ball cricket. On paper, India, Australia, and England look extremely strong. Ponting believes that Pakistan’s batting is dependent on Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
