The 6th T20 match of Pakistan T20I Tri-Series 2022 is scheduled to play on Thursday, 13th October 2022 at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.

Pakistan won two out of three matches played in this tri-series and will play the final against New Zealand. Pakistan had beaten the same team, Bangladesh and New Zealand in this series but they also lost their most recent match against New Zealand. We had mentioned earlier that Pakistan needs to take immediate action for its middle batting order. The top batters of Pakistan like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan failed to put some runs on the board and we saw the result.

Bangladesh disappointed its fans around the world in this series. They played three matches in this series and could not manage to win just a single match. They should worry about it as they are going to World Cup right after this series. They also have to change their batting strategies to get better results.

Pakistan won two matches in a row in this series but lost the most recent match against New Zealand. There are a lot of issues in the batting department of Pakistan. The middle batting order of Pakistan had failed to give the best performance in the last ten matches but they had taken no action. They are dependent on Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan for run-scoring. Pakistan failed to give the best performance in each and every department of the game in the previous match against New Zealand. They decided to bat first after winning the toss. The performance of their batting order was not much impressive and they put a total of just 130 runs on the board in 20 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed was the highest run-scorer with 27 runs to his name but he destroyed 24 balls for this and smashed just three boundaries.

Haris Rauf is performing well and he doesn’t deserve to be dropped from playing eleven. They leaked the target of 131 runs in just 16.1 overs. Shadab Khan was the only bowler from their side who had a wicket to his name. No other bowler could manage to pick just a single wicket. Naseem Shah, Shahnawaz Dahani, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Mohammad Nawaz, and Iftikhar Ahmed were the bowlers who could not manage to pick any wicket.

Bangladesh had not been good in recent times in T20 cricket. They failed to qualify for Super Four in Asia Cup and now had lost three matches in a row in this tri-series. They are struggling with the batting and bowling departments. The bowlers of Bangladesh once again failed to give the best performance in the previous match and leaked 208 runs in 20 overs. Mohammad Saifuddin picked up two wickets in four overs against 37 runs. Ebadot Hossain also picked two wickets while he was charged with 40 runs in four overs. Shoriful Islam had one wicket to his name but he also leaked a lot of runs. He was charged with 41 runs in four overs. Soumya Sarkar, Mosaddek Hossain, and Shakib Al Hasan were the bowlers who remained wicketless in the previous match.

The batters of Bangladesh had a good start while chasing the target of 209 runs. They scored almost 90 runs in first ten overs and lost two wickets but the middle batting order of Bangladesh totally collapsed and they scored a total of 160 runs in 20 overs. The skipper, Shakib Al Hasan was the only successful batter from their side who put 70 runs on the board. He faced 44 balls and smashed eight boundaries and one huge six during his inning. Soumya Sarkar and Litton Das scored 23 runs each while Najmul Hossain Shanto could manage to score just 11 runs. No other batter from the side of Bangladesh could even enter into the double figure. Bangladesh can’t give the best performance against the strong teams in ICC T20 World Cup and they should have a look at the bowling and batting departments.

Bangladesh had played 16 T20 matches against Pakistan where they won just 2 matches while Pakistan won 14 matches.
