Meanwhile, BCCI policymakers are desperate to bring back Kohli’s form. According to many, Kohli will return to his form once he scores a century.

And for that purpose, the selectors want to field Kohli on the tour of Zimbabwe. According to BCCI, Hindustan Times said that the selectors plan to field Kohli in the one-day series of the tour of Zimbabwe as a stage to return to form before the Asia Cup.
A BCCI official said, “There are still several days left before the meeting of the national selectors.” However, the plan is that the former India captain should use the platform to return to form in the ODI series of the tour of Zimbabwe, the format in which Kohli has been very successful.

Note that before the Asia Cup, India will play three ODI matches in Zimbabwe between August 18 and 22. Sources say most of the team’s seniors are likely to be rested on that tour. Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah will be rested and Lokesh Rahul or Shikhar Dhawan will be played. One of these two can play as a leader. Incidentally, Virat Kohli is out of form. He does not have a century in more than 110 innings. Among them, half-centuries are few and far between. He is not regular in the field either. After the IPL, Kohli rested for the T20 series against South Africa at home. Later, he did not enter the field in the T20 series of the tour of Ireland.
