Hong Kong defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Asia Cup qualifiers to qualify for the main stage. With this, six teams of the Asia Cup have been completed. They will play in Group ‘B’ of the Asia Cup.
This year’s Asia Cup will start on August 27.
The Bangladesh team is currently in the United Arab Emirates to take part in the tournament. A total of six countries will play in this year’s Asia Cup in two groups. Bangladesh’s opponents in the group stage are Afghanistan and Sri Lanka – this was already confirmed. However, Shakib Al Hasan’s regret can increase Hong Kong’s qualifications.
In Group ‘B’, two superpowers like India and Pakistan will play against Hong Kong. In Group ‘A’, Bangladesh will have to fight against five-time Asia Cup winner Sri Lanka and dangerous team Afghanistan. Therefore, the ‘Group of Death’ of this year’s tournament can be called the ‘A’ group. Going from that group to the ‘Super Four’ will be challenging for the Tigers.
Bangladesh’s first match is against Afghanistan. Shakib will take on Rashid Khan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on August 30 at 8 pm.
